When you rescue animals do you take them to an animal hospital? Or do you have veterinarians on hand that take care of the animals? I was just curious what the rescue did beyond helping to save animals.
ReplyDeleteRoy,
ReplyDeleteMost of the animals NAR receives do not need to be seen by a veterinarian, and are cared for by our staff and volunteers until they are ready to be released back into the wild. When an animal requires veterinarian treatment, NAR takes it to one of the animal hospitals that works with us."
Yes, absolutely, we have veterinarians in Santa Cruz who examine and treat all the sick and injured animals who come our way. We take the animals to them.

P.S.
ReplyDeleteAs one of our NAR staff members did mention... many of the animals need not be taken to the veterinarian as the N.A.R. staff and volunteers are knowledgeable in most illness/injuries. However, we do take them to the veterinarian when need be and are able to consult.

This is so cool! It’s amazing how we have come far enough in society to see the real meaning of this animal. Before it would have been shot and that would have been it. Things have changed so much today.
